The laws in Scotland are similar to USA when it comes to file share, basically its illegal and Kazaa will now have to "go legal" which means you cannot download anything copyrighted.
They have to pay 54 million in damages to the big 4 music companies which all considered should see them out of buisiness.
Will the industry now target other file share sites or is it a shot across the bows.
Most Kazaa users will just move to other sites, so what happens next, will the music industry keep chasing file share sites ?

Hi Bob
I can see your point and I do not condone file share sites , but why do we have blank discs, cassettes etc.
My stance now is that if you can get something for nothing then it will be taken.
If file sharing is illegal then it should be made so in a court of law.
Have you never taped a film or recorded song and let someone else see it or hear it?

Remember that I'm a software author for a few decades. So you may find it odd I don't copy CDs and pass them around.
Over in the Speakeasy Forum they could explain why people pirate so much better than me.

Sorry I did not explain I have not personally copied material to disc, I do not sell or distribute anything I download.
Everything I have downloaded is my property which I listen to in my time.
You can take this with a pinch of salt if you wish but thats the truth.
I still buy CDs,DVDs,Games etc. but I use my file share as a means of getting old or sentimental tunes that are unavailable.
