Is ez tracks legal?
by Shamlings - 12/4/05 3:59 PM
the site is eztraks.com and it claims to support the artists. I just do not want to be sued by any body and with my luck if I used a P2P I would be.

The site you noted looks down.
"EZ Tracks" is a front for "Get Music Free".
Looks "legal" to me. It also looks like GARBAGE.
Looks like more a matter of marketing than letting you have what you want. I can't even get the ringtones in my area.
HERE'S THE CLINCHER:
When I try to download a ringtone, I get told "Sorry, this offer is not available in your area (http://rapidresponse.directtrack.com/geo_tracking_redirect.html?a=CD1116&program_id=840) and they redirect me to a "moneymaking scam" site! (http://www.yourinterestsbyemail.com/sites/dtrediruk/index.php)
Avoid these ********.
Thanks for the info I thought it looked like a spammers paradise.
For what it's worth, Spyware Doctor found two directtrack tracking cookies on my computer. They were labeled "Spyware.Known_bad_sites" and both carried a "High" risk rating.
The "Threat Description" box had this to say --
"Indicates that a known bad site may have hijacked. Adware, Spyware and Phishing sites may use the Windows hosts file to redirect your browser to a malicious site when you try to access a valid site such as your Bank."
That's spooky enough to warrant quarantining and removing. If you search your C drive and find directtrack files, you should probably run anti-spyware programs until they are gone.
E-Z Tracks is a joke. Use nuTsie.
Ez-Tracks is a joke. It's absolutely LITTERED with ads. You have to submit your full name, address, phone number, and date of birth during the sign-up process. After that, you are forced to view 3 full-screen advertisements with TINY "click here if not interested" links hidden in different spots for each ad. I doubt there is any legitimate music on this site. Just a carrot on a stick while they rake in the ad revenue.<p>
My 2cents: Use <a href="http://www.nuTsie.com">nuTsie.com</a> which is actually FREE (and legal) with a signup process so simple, it only requires you to choose a username and password. Absolutely no personal information is required. It's a wonder sites like EZ-tracks even have traffic...but I guess there's a sucker born every minute.
i do not like e-z tracks either. i would try to find some other better websites. have you ever heard of this one website http://www.jeejuh.com i just found it recently and it has a really cool player for music, check it out.
I swear I'm not advertising these sites. They don't spam. Feature searches. Some links don't work, but that's tolerable since I get what I want. I think it's illegal to put on your ipod or something but its great just to sample. Full songs. Sometimes, it takes you to a music site, but I have never encountered viruses. You can even listen to it before downloading.
Thanks for the info!
i think it is a cheating
EZ Tracks is ARTIFICIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just completed my account sign up and the 2 tracks I downloaded are completely fake re-do's! One track was from the 80's, another a very new track from Katy Perry, both songs were re-done in a studio as a replicate using ALMOST identical soundtracks and re-sung by OTHER PEOPLE, NOT THE ORIGINALS AT ALL!!!!!!!! Stay away from this site, besides, in hind site, they want too much personal information and the ads and pop-ups will get you into agreeing to something you don't want if you're not completely vigil. STAY AWAY FROM EZ TRACKS!!!!
My question is how does one remove it from your computer?
I have tried to uninstall this beast but it doesn't show up in my program list. It's like a phantom.

All posts above, as far as I can see, are about a website. Not about a beast or a phantom, not even about a program. So can you explain:
1. What you want to remove (you can't remove a website).
2. Why you chose a thread about websites to discuss something that's not a website.
