Digital music forum: MIDI is out of tune

My guess is that it isn't. If it isn't, you may be out of luck. Of course, you still have to determine exactly what is causing what you think is a problem. Most run of the mill sound cards and speakers aren't as precise as what you are implying. You may need to add some gear to cover your needs including a better sound card and better speakers.

I have a not dis-similar problem on my packard bell Imedia S3720 desktop PC. When I play midis on PG Music powertracks PT12 and view music videos on utube they play 1 whole tone flat. ie. the note or chord of C plays as B flat.I burnt my pt12 from my pc to disc and loaded it on a laptop and the result of that was everything in pitch, C played as C. I checked with PG Music (PT12) support who told that though it was unusual my sound card could be out of tune. ( realtek HD).My playback is at 44.1 the only format supported . I keep being told that it is not possible but all my instruments are pitch perfect, Yamaha keyboards, tenor sax and claranet and the playback pitch speaks for itself.
