Hi everyone. I just had a gas fireplace installed and now want to buy a Smart 3D LED HDTV and whatever else I need to go with it. I'm looking for advice on exactly what I need and if I can use any of my old surround sound speakers with it. I left one side of the FP unframed in so I can run wires, cables, etc to the TV but want to get this done so I can apply the stone veneer.
I am an EXTREME novice with home theatre tech---- to the point I don't even know if I "need" a receiver, how many HDMI or other cables, etc etc,.....so please keep this in mind!
Anyway,....I was at BestBuy and was considering the SHARP AQUOIS 60" LED 3D SMART tv, but the saleman recommended the Samsung UN60ES8000FXZA. Is this a good TV or should I consider others?
My second question is I have an older Panasonic SA-HT930 surround sound/DVD player. Can I stilluse this as I dont believe it has an HDMI connector or should a get a new system or soundbar? I was told I could use it but may need a receiver or I would need to hook wires directly to my tv. I really need to know how many HDMI and/or other cables I need directly to my TV before "closing the FP off" with stone! Do I need or should I get a receiver either way?
If my surround is obsolete could you recommend a quality system, as well as 3d Bluray players (I have a bluray but not 3D so I assume I need a 3D one to view 3d with this TV.
Basically I've only narrowed it down to my TV (although I'm up for other suggestions as mentioned. So could you plase tell me what I need and what I should get including how many/what type of cables (HDMI, Hi-speed HDMI, composite etc. I need to know if I need a receiver, surround, sound bar, recommended power surge, etc.
I hoping to keep the price in the $4000 range for everything if possible.
Sorry for all the questions and looooong post but I am in deperate need of help and got 5 different answers from 3 different Bestbuy salesmen so I have no cluse what to buy and not to buy!!!!
