How could I get German TV in the US?

I know that this is a shot in the dark, but this has been bothering me for a while. Does anybody know how I could get German TV in the US? I have looked all over the place but have found nothing that would come even close. The best out there is DW TV, but that is just awful.. WiederTV via Roku is also rather anemic in its offerings. I was excited that some German TV stations have set ups similar to that of Hulu, but they are region locked and I cant access them through an US IP address. Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Topics like changing one's IP address, using proxies for this purpose is not legal, so it's generally prohibited around here. Hop on google for the gory details.

Install something like the SlingBox or Digital Dust units in Germany and then over the internet control what they record.

Probably costly and breaks some laws but that's your choice and trouble.
