Are DACs in Oppo BDP105 superior to Anthem D2 DACs?

I currently have an Anthem D2 processor with an Oppo BDP-83 blueray player, which I play my music CDs on. I'm considering upgrading my Oppo to the new BDP-103 or 105 and are getting varying opinions on the 2 Oppos.

Some people tell me that the DACs in my Anthem D2 processor are superior to the DACs in the Oppo 105, therefore, I would not gain any advantage in purchasing the BDP-105 over the 103, because I would be using my Anthem DACs anyway. Other people tell me that the Oppo BDP-105 DACs are better than those that are in my Anthem D2 and I would see a considerable audio improvement with the Oppo 105.

Question: Are the Anthem DACs superior to the BDP-105 DACs? And, if not, then I believe I'm just as well purchasing the Oppo BDP103, because it is my understanding the main difference in these two units is the audio quality.

Other equipment I'm using in my setup: Paradigm Signature 6 speakers, Bryston Amp & a Rotel Amp.

This really isn't the place with enough of a nucleus of folks involved in audiophile related equipment. My problem is that I have never heard the Anthem long enough for comparison wink. Oppo players are top notch, that's for sure. Support is incredible too.

For the record though, I always take it with a grain of salt when someone says you would see 'considerable (audio) improvement' by changing from one very good brand with quality components to another. OTOH, you are working with some great separates, so perhaps it's worth your while. Although even if you read through the specs of the new DAC of the 105, there still may be something you prefer that is not really measurable about your D2.

One thing I do like about the 105 when I saw it is that it seems to have a lot of features found in modern AV receivers. That's cool for folks like you that could simply plug it into the amp and enjoy.
