hi, I need help, Ihave got a 32'' samsung tv, I connected it from computer via hdmi cable and was able to use internet, e-mail, play games via the tv, i.e. plug and play. I've upgraded tv to a 46'', model nos.ue45eh5000k. I've connected hdmi as per instructions, however all I have is an empty screensaver in the centre of the tv. When I boot up the computer the monitor and the tv shows the pac. bell logo, loading microsoft and then the monitor carries on loading whilst the tv just shows the ' blank ' screensaver, the mouse pointer, when I move it off screen on the monitor appears on the tv screen, I can move a thumbnail from monitor on to the tv screen , but when I click on it [on the tv] it will load on my monitor but the tv stays the same, just the screen saver. I've googled several answers and tried resolution, different hdmi ports [ on tv] but no success, please can somone, in plain language offer a solution.

In Windows with an extended display, some screen savers only work on the primary screen. You may have to use a mirror display or make the HDTV the primary display.

the operating system I have is a windows seven home premium.it allows you to make either the monitor or the tv primary, i.e. nos.1 or nos. two.I have tried this and many other ' answers ' i've ' googgled but to no avail. I forgot to mention in my original post that the tv's are both samsung. Reading the ' e- manual ' on the tv is mind numbing. Certain connections won't work via hdmi, one can get a usb plug in wireless for the tv, providing this, or if that or your router is this and your ip provider is contracted to something else. It may be straightforeward to a samsung technician or somone with a degree in i.t. but all I wanted to do is ' plug and play ' as I did with the other samsung why do they have to make life so complicated, for me anyway. But thankyou Bob for the reply

just to clarify, to rectify the problem what I did was open computer menu,control panel,adjust screen resolution and changed displays from extend to duplicate, and the computer automatically changed the resolution and display.A simple enough task, although it took several hours of googling and forum searching before success. I hope that this post will help in the future
