But since breaking in a plasma certainly won't hurt, there's not reason not to do it either.

FWIW, the 4 yr old plasma in my den has a better picture now that it did before I broke it in. OTOH, I did 150 hours of break in slides on my dad's newer plasma, and I would be hard pressed to tell you what (if any) difference there is in PQ. But I darn well know the phosphors are broken in, considering all the crap my folks watch on that poor HDTV (LOL).

When your running it run the contrast and brightness maxed out but only with that, then withn normal TV yes low contrast and brightness the 1st 100-150 hours, then after calibrate and enjoy.

Yep, break-in DVD works great

First, the OP should be congratulated for purchasing a Plasma and not getting sucked into the LED panic. Second, the break-in DVD on that AVS site works great, and it loops continuously with no menus. I used it on my Plasma as well as both my son's Plasmas. I guess the DVD worked because the picture quality is great on all three Plasmas.
