Sign into Facebook from smart tv

I'm trying to log into Facebook on my lg smart tv 47lm6710. I got an activation code that I have to enter on pc by visiting the URL :http://www.facebook.com/device. I enter the activation code and I get always a message saying Oops
Something went wrong. We're working on getting it fixed as soon as we can.

Smart TVs often have limitations such as you must sign into the maker's "hub" first and then no spaces in names or passwords with nothing but lower case a-z and 0 to 9. Any non-alphanumeric and it goes south.

Frankly the Smart TV makers are blowing this round. Can't figure out why.
