LG 65LM6200 vs. Panny P65ST50

Hi,

I'm looking for a new TV to be placed in the living room (somewhat controllable lighting) replacing a 46" LED Samsung. Currently I have narrowed it down to two options:

-LG 65LM6200 (65" LG LED 3D TV)
-Panasonic P65ST50 (65" Panny 3D Plasma)

Which one is the best value in your opinion? Any other recommended TVs? I would like to watch 3D movies as well; which has better 3D performance?

My budget is around $2k which is the lowest I can get those two TVs for.

TVs mostly used to watch sports, TV shows and news.

Also, when is the best time to purchase? Now? Or the supposedly cheaper times in February?

I think LG is the way to go. I just order a 47 inchers for $560. Hope I won't be disappointed. Just my thought on this.

Glad I don't have to make that decision. However I did place an order for a 47" LG last week for $560 (LM series also). Remember...the LG 3d glasses are free. If Panasonic glasses are not free then you have figure in about $50/pair extra.

...3D is still rather gimmicky (even on a 'good' 3D HDTV), and the least commonly watched content. In this sense, I would instead try to maximize your PQ to provide a 'jack of all trades' HDTV. That said, the Panasonic would be my choice if you have some degree of light control in the viewing space.
