My wife wants the TV mounted over the fireplace

OK, we just got a new place and the best (really the only) place to put the flat screen is over the fireplace. The problem is that there is no way to get HDMI cable to the set without unsightly wires running across or under the carpet and snaking up the wall and over the mantle. So, is there an equipment setup where I can have the BluRay and DirecTV about ten feet away and wirelessly stream the HD content to the TV? I don't mind spending a little $'s to make sure that it's a reliable operation. I don't have a wifi ready TV so whatever I end up with would have to have both ends of the "sending" & "receiving" parts. As my name implies, I'm kind of a geezer and I don't have a lot of tech savvyness. That means that you should keep the description simple and be very specific about what I should buy. Thanks in advance for any help.

You do with the signal leads, (aerial, HDMI, composite or component), you still will have the power lead showing (or to be hidden), which means that whatever choice you make regarding getting a signal to your set, this problem remains...... (unfortunately, wireless power distribution is NOT a reality)

Solution to getting the cables to your TV wirelessly

I put these floating shelves above the TV which I got from Jamesmountsandmore.com and they actually Had wire or cable management going down the spine of the DVD wall mount it is really cool. it turned out looking really nice I was very happy check it out. I don't know if this will help with your problem, but I found an over the fireplace mount that I love. It made by Dynamics Mounting. You can order it at http://www.dynamicmounting.com/. As far as you problem with the cables, I would get long Cables and try to hide them behind the Wall, or Down and Behind the Mantel. You may have to cut some Channels in your Mantel along the wall, but this way you should be able to hide the cables. If this is going to be a pretty permanent setup, you might Paint the cables the same color as to the wall and/or Mantle. If you do a good job, they will only be noticed on close inspection. I hope these thoughts are helpfull!
