So I went to Best Buy and bought this tv:

It was between $950 and $1,000
I also ordered this tv from walmart:
http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-47LM4600-led-tv
It was between $650 and $700
Now I know Samsung is the best in LED TVs (I hear great things about Sony as well). Stacking these too up I get the following
Both are:
- LED
- 1080 P
- 120 Hz
- Smart TV & Wifi ready
- Super thin
Samsung:
- Has the brand name for the best quality
LG:
- Also is 3D and has 4 pairs of glasses (don't really care about 3D tv though - might never even use a 3d)
The big question is....is the Samsung quality really that much better. Is there something that makes the LG model inferior? Will the samsung picture quality hold up way longer?
I have to return one or the other tomorrow so if people who are pros with this stuff can help me out I'd really appreciate the help!

For LED LCD the life span should be about the same.

But you do see a lot of grumbling about "Smart TV" since it falls short of the PC internet experience. So short that my advice is to get the best picture quality and ignore the Smart TV apps or features. They have a long ways to go.

and is it that much better that the 300 dollar difference makes sense?
So then my question would be is the Samsung model above wayyy superior to the LG Model in terms of quality?

As some folk have 20/10 vision they may need sharper panels. You are firmly into personal preferences now and need to see them in stores and see which looks better to you.
Try reading the CNET Reviews on them too.
