I need some help
I have a Bell Satelite PVR and just purchase a Samsung 60" 3D TV and a Samsung 3D Blue Ray Home theater.
I am using HDMI cables. Everything seems to be working but I don't get any sound from my rear and centre speaker.
In order to get at least the front speakers working I had to use old fasion red/white AV cables from the TV to the Home Theater.
the speakers all work when I switch to the Blue Ray. But not when I watch TV.
What am I missing. I was under the impression that when I use HDMI cables, there is no need for Audio cables anymore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

As you know, any audio out of the TV is going to be stereo with the exception of the Antenna input. I'm guessing you are just learning about HDMI and HDCP and pass through rules.
Remember you avoid that by running your HDMI to the HD Theater first then from the HD Theater to the HDTV.

thanks for you help, you are right I am just learing. Now, I had it connected from my PVR to the HD theater and from there to the TV, unfortunantly I didn't get a signal from my PVR. Besides the Source to I need to change any settings in the TV or Theater.

The settings are sometimes overwhelming the first time and why those folk in vans run around setting it all up for folk that can't make heads or tails of the manuals. We know there is an industry agreed upon limitation (it's not technical, it's HDCP) so we get to rewire as needed.
There are a lot of folk that have those PVRs that don't record HD audio so they go setup a 5.1 system and it upsets them as it either is mute (they have it all set to 5.1) or is just stereo.
I tiptoe into such setups by wiring it up source-> HT-> HDTV and add an optical from HDTV back to the HT since ARC is iffy. You may encounter folk that demand you remove the optical and get ARC working. You try to smile a little and let them call the boss.

You get to find out if the PVR records more than stereo. And yes there are a lot of settings. Call the cable co and Samsung to have them walk you through the settings.
