Which amp should i buy for CV VE-15's? One more thing..

I am about to buy a pair of Cerwin Vega VE-15's. I am curious as to a couple of options as to power them properly, so i can some real BOOM out of them. I plan on using them mostly for music via my ipod. I also have a 7.1 surround system (onkyo S5400).. Am i able to hook these into n amp and then into my onkyo receiver? I know i can just use these as the front speakers in my onkyo, but i think it only pushes like 130w per channel. I really wanted to get a little more power to the cirwin vegas, as they support 400w Peak, though. Any advice on what amps to look at would be greatly appreciated. Im trying not to break the bank, but i need a decent amount of power, and something to last.
Also, anyone wanting to take the time and tell me in detail how you would go about hooking the whole system together, if possible, feel free to help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.
I guess one more thing.. Do i have to get a pre-amp or another receiver if i just get an amp for the cirwin vegas? Or could i use the onkyo to adjust volume and all the other settings on the cirwins?
Thanks in advance to anyone with the time to help me out. I grew up with a pair of cerwin vegas with a real old school BRICK of an amp about 15 years ago, and im ready to get back to listening to music like it was then. POWERFUL
