Help narrowing the decision on big screen HDTV

Based on CNET reviews, I think I've narrowed down my choices. If costs were all the same (which they are pretty close), which would you choose?

Vizio E601i-A3 60"
Panasonic ST50 55"
Panasonic UT50 (or GT50) 60"
Other?

The panny would be my choice.

I know folk that like the other but in the circles and family here, that name has too many failures after a few years.

CNET has reviews on the panny's and my only suggestion is to get a 5 to 10 year warranty. If they don't sell such, they are sending you a clear message that I hope you can understand. Many folk over invest in these 5 year devices and are getting more than a little upset later.

I would pick the Pan. UT50. How many pairs of 3D glasses do you get for free?

Between those, hands down the ST50

Not only can it handle brighter spaces better than the UT50, the black levels are superb. The Vizio shouldn't even be on the same playing field IMO and E.

Truth be told though, ahtoi's hint at light control for thew viewing space is a great one, for all panels actually.

Light control is good, no glare to worry about at all.

So you would take the ST50 even at the expense of going down in screen size?

Because imperfections become a lot more visible large sizes, especially when you start throwing non-HD source material in to the mix. Most SD really starts looking like crap when you stretch it out. 55 vs 60 is not much different IMNSHO and E.
