Old VCR to HDMI jack on TV?

My wife is totally blind. We use a VCR to record shows she wants to watch when I am not home. She can't use a DVR because of the onscreen menus, she can't see them. I program the VCR and she knows the remote so she can play back her shows. What I want to know is if there is a way to convert the signal from the VCR so I can plug into the HDMI jack on my TV. Otherwise I have to keep changing the video sorce on my TV from HDMI/DVI to TV and back again.

But the sets I see have composite video options. Why not use that? Even with a convertor you still have to change sources.

(Where to look for the convertor? I found them on Amazon.com)
