Is Harmon Kardon MS150 good?

I do not have a functioning cd player at my house and was wanting a nice one. I know most people would recommend getting a receiver, sub woofer, and everything seperate - but I want something clean and simple. Plus I didn't really want to go over $500.
Is the HK 150 a nice choice? It looks nice, and I've heard good things about the brand. If you guys have any other suggestions, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Like any other expensive name brand speaker dock system, you really need hands on time to evaluate. If you intend on obtaining something this compact, there's really no other way. It's not a very commonly sold device, that much I am sure of.

FWIW, the retail price seems quite high vs going online and getting a proper surround system (likely for less $). When I say 'proper surround', I mean at least having the ability to go beyond what a tabletop device can do, and be able to physically separate speakers to produce a better sound field.

but I don't have a way to hide the wires in my room, and I have heard mixed things about wireless systems.
