I am looking for a wireless headphone solution, but am not finding what I need. I want to listen to the audio from my TV using headphones without having a headphone cable strung across the room. However, the problem with existing solutions is that you seem to be unnecessarily limited to headphones that use rechargeable batteries. Which means the audio dies after a couple hours.
I'm hoping there is some solution out there that sends the audio across the room to a receiver that's plugged into an AC outlet into which you can plug the non-powered headphones of your choice. That way there is still not a cord running across the room, but you don't have to use headphones that rely on rechargeable batteries. The receiver can be very small and sit on the table right next to you. The best of both worlds.
Better yet, how about a hardware device that will take the audio signal from your TV and transmit it over a frequency an iPod or Android can receive, perhaps using an app like airphones? That way you plug your headphones into your iPod or Android and have the option of leaving it plugged into an ac outlet or using the battery.
Does anyone know of a system that works this way?
