problems connecting to internet on AVR 1713

Anyone having issues connecting the AVR 1713 to the internet via Airport extreme? I 've tried everything and nothing is working? It just wont allow the connection. I've tested the modem and cable and they are not the problem. Denon support has no ideas other than to return the unit.

I presume you are referring to a wireless connectivity issue?

If so, have you tried using a mini-toslink to toslink cable, running from the airport extreme to the Denon? There's also the 3.5mm minijack to RCA option, but I prefer the sound quality if the former. For reference:

no wireless issues

The Denon 1713 is not wireless, it is connected through ethernet cable. That what makes it so strange that it won't connect to the internet. The Denon rep thinks that its getting held up in the firewall and advised me to contact my cable (Comcast) company. I did that and asked how to disable my firewall and heard crickets in the background...

I am going to try and call back so I may get lucky enough for someone to try and walk me through that one..

Look into trying different DNS settings

Often this is a stone that is not looked under. There are some useful threads in Comcast-related discussion forums. Trying searching for Open DNS to get some background.

FWIW, your firewall settings are either on the PC (software) or Router (software/hardware). That has nothing to do with Comcast.
