Purchase of New HDTV

I am wanting to purchase a 55 in TV. I am not sure if I should buy it now (2012 model) or wait till Jan. or Feb. when the new models arrive. Has anyone heard of any fantastic new features that will be added that would make me wait? I am considering the Panasonic P55VT50 or the Samsung 55ES7100. I know one is plasma and the other LED. Thanks

If you research IMAGE RETENTION PLASMA you find a few answers. But let's be clear that those that sell PLASMA downplay the issue. It's still there and if you use the set to play video games or watch ANY non-full-screen content I suggest you forget PLASMA.

The VT50 does have amazing PQ

It really depends on what type of activities you do with your HDTV, and how much ambient light there is in the viewing space. If it's an area with light control/shades and you are primarily watching movies/TV, you should consider the VT50 for its excellent overall PQ and black levels/contrast. Other activities, such as gaming with hours of static images, might warrant you buying an LED instead to avoid IR or burn-in. Ditto for using such a device in bright rooms. Keep in mind thought that average users, not watching many hours of TV/gaming each day, can choose from either technology without much worry or hesitation.
