Can I make multitrack music videos in home studio?

How can I best record a song track as a video, then overdub a second track (say, self and a few friends doing a harmony part), then synch the two (or more) videos to playback together on split screen, or cutting from screen to screen? Where can I learn how to do this (on a Mac)? Thank you for any suggestions!

But where to learn this? Many folk attend college and some will take classes while others just dive in.

I can't tell which path you'll take but once in a while you find folk that think they can do this in 5 minutes or less. As the man said "only in the movies."

'multitrack music recording on a mac' brings back some very useful hits in google.

A good software

You'll need a very good software and a fast computer to process all.

Steinberg has a lot of good software for music studios, and Nuendo may be the one for you.
