Toshiba DLP TV problem

I have Toshiba Model # 65HM167, DLP Projection TV for last 4 years. Recently white dots started to appear on screen. It started with 1 dot and now we have about 10 dots and increases as time goes by. I complained to Toshiba, but they say that since it is out of warranty, they can not do any thing. There are so many complains on same problems and seems that it is Manufacturer's defect. Any idea what to do with the white dots problem?

The DMD does wear out.

But your average consumer will consider this a defect even if we look at the usual Ti (they made the DMD chip) document and figure out the life span is not as long as expected.

There are some trying to build a case it's a manufacturer's defect but then go after the TV maker which makes you wonder how good a lawyer they have. That is, Ti should be in that complaint but then I'm off topic.

So what to do if I had this was to ask for the one time repair. If they don't I head to shopjimmy.com to get a new DMD chip.
