Hi everyone!
Currently I have a small 33" HDTV and I'm thinking of an upgrade.
I think I'll go for a 55" tv since the distance between the tv and the coach is 3m or around 120". 60" sounds a bit too big. That pretty much settled, but if you have anything to say you are welcomed.
Anyway, around 1/3 of the time will be gaming on my Xbox 360, and the other 2/3 will be actually watching stuff. So I thought I would go for plasma since I hear plasma has much better refresh rates and its very important for games, on the other hand, I hear that newer LED screen have pretty good ones too. Can i compare them somehow? I play more of slower action games like assassins creed. My room is rather bright and i hear plasma arent that good as LEDs? Is it all that bad or can i just close the window and be alright? How bad is it?
Since Panasonic plasmas are the best I thought I would go for UT50. Is it a right choice?
The budget is around 2 000$. Can get higher if needed. Lower if possible.

There has been some improvements with that but for gamers I want them to tell me that IR is never going to bother them. Those heads up displays in games tend to be a deal killer for plasma sets.

Thanks. Sorry, but what's IR? And overall from what I get you tend to say that LED would be better? Sorry, I'm Russian, didn't really understood something.

I didn't write LED is better, I think the choice is yours. But I find many plasma owners would loathe the display if their heads up game image stuck around for long.

Oh, yes I heard about it. I thought it was almost solved in new models? Can you say a bit more about it? I mean "after .. second image gets stucked for .. seconds"? So I would know how awful it is. Didn't find such information elsewhere yet.
So are you concerned about it?

I can't tell from the reply. The industry and folk who sell these DOWNPLAY the issue and yes, it's better but it's still there. If you have ANY concern about IR, I'd not go plasma.

I see. Actually I haven't yet ever talked about purchasing a TV with any sellers, all the advises were found on the Internet. Anyway, thanks, this really helped out. If you or anyone else have something I should know, please spend some time to tell me that. I will go to a shop to compare them live sometime soon.
