Energy 5.1 Take Classic VS. Bose Acoustimass 6

I'm rebuilding my home theater using an
Onkyo TX-NR616 7.2-Channel THX Select2 Plus Certified Network A/V Receiver

I'm ready to go with the Energy 5.1 Take Classic speakers but then I thought maybe I'd try to use the five satellites from my
12 year old Bose Acoustimass 6 set - and then pair them with a new subwoofer (I always hated the way Bose wired their Acoustimass sets)

Does anyone think the Bose set up could be better/ neater than the Energy 5.1?

Bose is a proprietary system, so it will not be compatible by utilizing two from the set.

I was planning on using all five satellites (not just 2 as you mention) with a Polk Audio DSW PRO 400.

youre saying they simply wont work?

so i guess the Energy 5.1 Take Classic is a better way to go?

You will get much better sound in any case. I rarely recommend Bose since for the same money you can always do better. Keep in mind that the Bose system doesn't employ a true subwoofer but it's more akin to a bass module.

That said, I have a small (non-primary) HT/television viewing space at home where I still have an old Bose system set up. It is better than stereo TV speakers though.
