budget DAC to use for my AudioEngine A5+ speakers?

I'm creating a simple audio system for my condo. Currently I have bought the AudioEngine a5+ but I am looking for a budget DAC to use with them.

My goal is the following:
I want to connect my xbox 360, bluray, hd receiver, and laptop directly to my TV. From there, my TV has an optical Out which I would like to connect to a DAC. From this Dac, I would than connect it directly to my Audio Engine A5+ Speakers.

I have been googling for awhile and can't really find any decent reviews on DACs. They all seem to be very expensive.

Now im a HUGE fan of monoprice, but would this DAC do anything at all for me?

My experience with DAC devices is that's it's always trial and error in the budget end of the spectrum. Assuming you have the HDTV nailed down that it can pass along stereo per the DAC manufacturers recommendations, you should be golden.

Time to save your money for a budget HTIB IMO. Look at one of the less expensive refurb Onkyo systems for sale sometimes on the Onkyo web site. This way you will at least get proper surrounds/rears/sub.
