I know that for home theater or active speakers with remote.
When I connect the speakers or headphone (in headphone jack), the buildin speakers not switch off too!?

I didn't find one so I shared how most of these work. If there is a defect here, I can't tell. So far it seems it is working as expected.

on the external speaker, why not just "mute" the tv sound with the remote?

I adjusting external speakers volume manually.
The bigger problem is: on analog audio output not work "auto gain control"!?

If there's no other switcher you can purchase to facilitate this functionality, what you need is a standard AV system. AV receiver/speakers/HDTV. Not only will it give you better sound, but you don't have to worry about the HDTV speakers anymore.

The price of a basic surround system has come down to the point where it's a good option that people often do not consider. Places like Ecost & Amazon (in addition to the big box stores, walmart, etc.) often have adequate systems for $250-300.
