Samsung HT-E6750W rear speakers don't output music

I've just bought a Samsung HT-E6750W and have discovered that while the rear speakers are great when watching a Blu-ray disc, they don't output any sound if you're playing music from an iPod or CD. The manual suggests that it's supposed to function that way. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I'd realised that - assumed it would function similarly to my old surround sound system.

Has any-one found a work-around to make the rear speakers output sound when you're listening to music?

Also, what happens when you select 'matrixed surround' (or equivalent)?

Matrix setting

The manual is singularly unhelpful - simply says that the rear speakers only work when you're playing surround sound movies. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that then you submit on online enquiry to Samsung (finding the link is a feat in itself) they're actually quite helpful.

As it turns out, the answer is indeed to change the Pro Logic II mode to "matrix". You then have to muck around and manually change the volume of the individual speakers to get any appreciable volume from the rear speakers (and still not as much as I'd like), but it's better than nought!

Yeah, matrixed surround can sound quite tepid to say the least. But at least it's something wink.

Where do I find the setting to change the matrix mode? I'm having the same problem, I can't get music to play through the surround speakers

I had the same problem when I started testing the product with all the music devices listed in the manual. I was also disappointed as you were but then found that when playing a CD or music from an iPhone or iPod, for the product to output sound through the rear speakers you have listen to the music in 3D. You do that by pressing the 3D Sound button on the remote.
