Focus on picture quality and units that have more than 1 year warranty.

If you look into those apps you find buggy apps and no real way to get them fixed. As it stands today, and I do get some flack from the makers on this, not worth a dime.

processor and remote

Every TV producers are introducing their smart TV and each of them have very similar features.
In my opinion, the processor and remote determines which TV is better.
I have LG's LM9600 and it has dual-precessor and a magic remote.

The TV with a better interface wins in smart TV market. And by better, I mean less complicated and more aesthetic graphics. The LG smart TV with the magic remote by far has the simplest interface IMO. They have all the popular apps that most people use everyday. And for the camera, Samsung's smart TVs have a built in camera and you've probably heard but that thing's a little creepy.

I've recently bought a smartv and I see the applications you are talking about.

I don't use social media like Facebook and Skype and whatever. I was using them but got tired of it real quick.

But I don't see any way that someone would buy a smartv just because it has these apps. If you sit in front of your TV all day long, maybe so. But think about, you're probably always carrying your phone with you. Wouldn't it be much easier to update your status or commuicate on your phone? Would you actually come in from the yard or from another room and go through turning the TV on to send a message? What if the power goes out? Thank about the electricity just to turn on the TV just to do that. Or think about driving home to use the TV when you could do it on the phone wherever you are. Spend the money on something else. Buy a ROKU or WDLive for on line streaming movies. Keep using your phone for the other. I agree with Profitts comments.

I think you replied to the wrong person here lol. I do like the fact that smart TVs have social networking apps but it's definitely not my favorite. I agree with you in a sense that I use my phone and computer for social networking. And what I meant by the apps were the sports apps and movie streaming apps like Netflix and Hulu.
