Home audio & video forum: Looking for a splitter or switcher for hdmi

It cost me $37 dollars, shipping included for a HDCP 2 x 1 splitter from Monoprice. I was able to view my cable chnls on my kitchen TV, BUT, if I went to my main TV, I could not see my channels until i unplugged the cable from the splitter. It was installed from my cable box to the input of the splitter and the output of the splitter to my kitchen TV. I sent it back and got a complete refund. The other $9 dollar one is from Meritline and suggest if anyone is interested to read the numerous reviews at that web site. I realized that some reviews are rigged, but there were too many there for all of them to be rigged. As of now, I got solely a 15' HDMI cable connected to both TV's and see the chnls, but again, I have to uplug one of them to be able to view it on the other. I want to be able to view both TV's simultaneously, just so i do not have to plug and uplug.

But here Amazon has most things shipping free if you can wait a few days. In many cases, returns are free.

so my thought is that you are trying the cable splitters which may work but never do more than one display at a time.>>>

Can you describe how a cable splitter looks like as compared to a HDMI splitter? As for Amazon, the one you recommended is 24.95, 5 cents short of getting a free delivery ( over $25 ), which is kinda tacky in order to get one to buy another object to get over the $25.

I seem to fail in explaining that simple cable splitters only do a simple wire to each connection where the hardware splitters use some chips and more.

I fear you'll have to call the makers and hope they'll go over all the needed details that you seek. Here I can only write so much and to go beyond this is not possible in this small space.

Sorry, but for now I suggest you only buy where you can return what does not work.
