Samsung plasma "pop" heard from rear.

Hi, I have a 43" Samsung plasma, mod# PN43D450A2D. I loved this set up until an hour ago when I heard 2 "pop","pop" noises from the rear. The unit shut down. I shut off all power to the unit, unplugged the breaker bar, and let it set for 5 minutes. I plugged back in the power, turned on the breaker bar. The unit tried to click on, then 2 "pops" came from the back, again the unit tried to turn itself on, and another "pop" from the rear. The standby light is on, but when tried with my remote to turn it on, repeat as above. Can anybody help me out as to an explanation for this behavior? A 1m TY's !!!!

I see the PN42 at http://www.samsung.com/us/capacitorsettlement/ but not a 43.

What is a 1m TY? If that is code for one month out of warranty I have some good news for USA folk. Register the device at Samsung.com for 3 more months warranty then call it in.

I've had this particular model # PN43D450A2D, 43" plasma a little over 2 years.

Here is the exact model:

Looks as though they changed up the #'s , but it still is the same as mine, down to every spec.

Samsung capacitors

A couple of years ago Samsung had issues with capacitors in its TVs, and if the back of the TV is making a popping sound that could potentially be the problem.

See the class action, though it's only from 2008 TVs it may be of help

So far all the BAD CAPS (see google on that) are not labeled "Samsung."

The long story of BAD CAPS is interesting to me as it hit a few companies I did design work for. But I can see where a consumer would not be interested.
