Samsung HTC-550 says"PROT" and shuts off? please help

I've had this home theater system for a year or so. Went to watch a movie, turned it on stuck in the dvd and it said PROT and shut off. then all it would do when i turned it on was HELLO, LOADING, PROT and shut off. please help!

Read the manual and look for a reset.

Try samsung.com but in the US it's 1800SAMSUNG

try unplugging the speakers completely

unplug the speakers it may be inside the speaker where its shorting

your amp is going into protection mode most likely a speaker wire has either been pinched or chewed , check your wires and connections , a speaker wire may be loose behind your amp or at your speaker and shorting out your system.hope this helps

try unplugging the speakers from the amp and see if it still happens
