Samsung TV clicks on/off 10/15 times before staying on

Samsung 40" LCD HDTV clicks on/off/on/off 10 or 20 times without a picture appearing. Takes about a minute before it finally stays on with a picture. Is this an easy fix or should I just let planned obsolesence win again? Cost about $1200 new 3 years ago; can replace for about $700.

If you had posted it I would have checked the Samsung web site to see if they covered the rather well known BAD CAPS issue.

But you didn't so I'll ask you add that PLUS REMOVE THE POWER FROM THE SET NOW!!!

Continued use can damage stuff that is not covered.

Called Samsung 4/25; they came out and fixed the problem 4/26!

Took the technician about 15 minutes to replace 3 capacitors!

No charge except the tip I gave him.

Talk about customer service! Thanks for the help!

The BAD CAPS saga is going to be with us for years. Some think the HDTV maker caused this but the scary part is how many things these parts are in.

It's not pretty.
