Home audio & video forum: Need Pic for correct Cable

Need to verify this before I can recommend the correct cable.

Also, is your V35 system this one-

Again, this is because there are other earlier models that might not have the same inputs/outputs.

No I need a CABLE. It is square end on one end and regular round on the other. The Viera has a square plug hole and my Bose lifestyle 35 has a round plug hole. I want to be able to connect my laptop to the tv and have sound come frm the surround sound Bose. I don't want to use the speakers on the tv. Right now when I plug the computer to the tv and play a movie, ALL the sound comes from the tv and NOT the bose. See the problem?

Otherwise, you *likely* need the following if what you say is true:

Mini-toslink to (normal) toslink cable.

Are you certain the Bose port you intend on using is the correct one? If it's the most recent 35, you would have a normal toslink in back. Like this from the amazon link I posted above (please verify!).

I have circled the port you should be using on the left side in back. It's a normal toslink (square) digital optical input.

Thank you I think the Amazon cable (Toslink) is the one. My Lifestyle 35 is an older version. It is 7 yrs. old and does not have any HDMI ports as pictured in your link.

I will try getting the one from Amazon and see if it works, if not, I'm only out a few bucks and some wait time.

Otherwise, from you say and what I see on the Bose support pages, all of the older versions of the V35 include the same type of digital optical connection, and also a digital coaxial, which looks just like a standard RCA jack. I found this info here-

Looking through the 5.1 systems, click on the V35, then choose 'connecting other products' to see the available connection types for your version of the LIfestyle V35. Here's the link:
