Pioneer Elite Pro 1000 HD

I appreciate any assistance. I have a Pioneer Elite Pro 1000 HD that I purchased used from a former tenant approximately two (2) years ago. I dont know how old the TV is. The picture went out as I heard a "popping" sound. I had this repair guy come out to evaluate it and he said the power supply board is burnt out. Question, is it going to cost about me an "arm and leg" to get it repaired. Given the new technology out there, do you think it is worth fixing? I really enjoyed the picture quality that it provided. Please advise.

2nd Question: This repair guy, named Robert (773) 630-8642, Mad Dog TV & Electronic Repairs (Or something like that as I found him off a search on the Internet in the Chicago, IL area), charged me $85 in cash to come out to evaluate what was wrong with the TV. He said the $85 would be applied to repairing the TV. However, I have called him repeatly with no success. He initially said he ordered the wrong supply board and would have to re-order a new one. Its been over three (3) weeks now since he came over to evaluate the TV, in fact O2/01/2012 was the day he came to my home. How he doesn't answer and/or return my phone calls. Can I file a Theft of Services compliant with the Chicago Police Department ? Or report him to the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint ? Please advise. Regard, John
