HDMI Splitter

Can someone tell me why
I would need a "POWERED" HDMI splitter vs just an un-powered "Splitter"? I have only one HDMI output on my Roku box; I want to connect it to two TVs.

Use splitters that work.

You can check amazon.com user feedback and you find unpowered splitters appear to not work.

Here is how I look at it.

hdmi uses as splitter...use powered one. hdmi uses as switch...power may or may not be needed. My thinking is in device isolation (electronically). I am not a engineer so I could be all wet, hehe.
