Home audio & video forum: Best wireless headphones for TV

I have been using Model RS-120 & RS-130 (they are almost interchangeable) headphones for about 2 years. I use them because it is difficult for me to understand what is being said in movies with actors that mumble (sounds like that to me) or with loud background noise. I can wander all over my home, even go outside and ever miss a word. I think the range is up to 300 feet, but have never tested that.
The transmitter is plugged into the Headphone jack of my TV - I have a Philips and a LG, yes I have a set for each TV. Have never used the Audio Out of the TVs, only the headphone jack.
Earphone cups are in a cup shape, so your ears fit inside and are comfortable to wear. They do not block `outside' sound. I can still hear what is happening around me - muffled of course, but can still hear other sounds.
Sound is presented in Stereo, play music videos as loud as you want ...
The only warning I would offer is there are 2 transmitting frequencies and they are not compatible. Meaning if you have 1 set and order a second Headphone (no transmitter) the Headphone will need to be the same frequency as the transmitter.
Just checked... Bedroom is a TR-130 Transmitter at 926-928 and Living room is TR-130 at 863-865. HDR-130 Headsets match the transmitters.
Very happy with their performance over the past 2 years - I even have a spare set (the RS-120), just in case I need it some day.

I am mostly deaf - so even if I crank up the tv speakers to max - cant hear them.
I put in an amp - but that blew out everyone else LOL
I have RCA 141 wireless and Sennheiser 120.
the RCA for about 2+ years and gives best volume amp - I warn anyone wanting
to see what I hear, to hold them away from the head at full volume.
the 120 were a bit more comfy on the ear but would not go loud enough
for me - but also had good sound.
the rca - less than $20 the S-120 on ebay a little under $30. both new.
wouldn't buy headphones used.

First, my I suggest you get the baby accustomed to your home environment. They adjust rapidly to noisier environments, and you will be happy you did this when you have more children.
Second, you might want to track some reviews, and make a selection within your price range. The two most important factors in selecting a headphone, of any type, are comfort, and sound quality. Since this type of headphone is most likely to be used within sight of the TV, you might want to check out those that use IR to transmit the audio. Some newer TVs also are equipped with Bluetooth, so that is a good option which may save some money as the headphones can serve multiple uses.

I have been using the 130s for some time now and love them! I have a slight hearing loss and tinnitus, when I cant hear the voices on the tv I put them on. Also if my wife goes to sleep early, or vice versa we put them on and turn the tv volume off. If I cant sleep late at night I put them on so I dont disturb the neighbors, also first thing in the morning around 6 am. I think everyone should have a set of wireless headphones. My advice would be just stay away from the cheap models, you get what you pay for and defenetly don't want line of sight headphones, with mine on I can go in any room in our apartment, down the hall, etc and not miss any of the sound from what I was watching, If I had line of sight I couldn't do that.
