I own the Denon AVR-1912 AV receiver. I connected a Denon Blu Ray
via HDMI cable to Input 1. Output from receiver to TV also with HDMI.
Until yesterday, the connections were fine - I was able to watch DVDs without problem. Today, I tried to play a DVD and
although I got a picture, there was no sound.
When I remove HDMI from the reciever and connect via audio cable (CD audio sockets) I get sound (but no picture obviously). Played the DVD directly into TV
through the HDMI cable without a problem, so it's not the player, the
cable, or the TV. The receiver "Mute" is off.
If I connect the Blu-ray player to the TV and redirect the audio output from the TV via HDMI through the reciever to the speakers, everything works fine. But this is not the way to connect my products as you will agree upon.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

By "dvds" do you mean blu ray discs or standard DVDs?
The Denon has several HDMI inputs. Did you try any of the others?

Thanks for your answer.

I don't have any blu-rays yet...
I tried the other hdmi's as well but alas to no avail.

I later found out that the problem did not occur when I switch on the TV followed by the reciever. When I put the HDMI control mode to off that helped as well. Is that normal behaviour?

Excuse me because my previous log was incorrect.
My solution does not seem to be pemanent and I cannot reproduce it. So I still need some help here.
