"Remove" unwanted audio from recording

Hi All,
I've been asked to edit some video footage of a student dance performance. The students were dancing on live music (guitar). Unfortunately, during the performance some CD player was shortly activated. Is there any way to remove the CD-music from the recording? Mind you, I'm not an expert, so please keep it simple.
Software I use: Adobe Premiere Elements 8 and I can install several trial versions of audio editing software.

use ulead videostudio and remove the unwanted sound and you can add any other sound or music

Unfortunately the dancers were dancing to live guitar music. Other music would always be out of sync. Had they been dancing to CD music, than your suggestion would have worked. What I want to do is to subtract the unwanted CD music from the audio track.

It may not be possible to eliminate the offending music but you could limit it somewhat. A sound studio that comes with a decent sound card would be a big help and help to reduce the unwanted sounds and bring the background out more.
