TV, Blu-ray, DVR, VCR set up NOT wireless How do I hook up?

Non-technical person alert! Sorry in advance, this may be a dumb question:
I'm planning on getting an HDTV, DVR and Blu-ray that can stream Netflix, etc. I already have a VCR I want to keep in the loop. I have DSL modem for my computer. Nothing is wireless and I don't want anything to be wireless (you may think I'm looney!).
So..my question...how would I hook all this up not using anything wireless? I want to hook the blu-ray to the internet to get Netflix, etc. My computer is waaay across the room from both the tv and where the cable is coming out of the wall, but my modem is with the computer.
Would I get a non-wireless router, installed where the cable comes out of the wall to split the DSL to my computer and blu-ray? Or does the router need to come out of the modem? The modem is with my computer which is on the end of a very long cable wrapped around the entirely of my living room. I would like wireless but dread having to install more cables all the way around the room to reach the modem.
Any insight you can give would be most appreciated.
