Any ideas for Home Theater for $1800 or under?

Im aware of the bose haters out there (I do like the Bose lifestyle V20) i agree the proprietary system is a joke yet the ability to locate rear wireless speakers, along with the power that comes from such small speakers is appealing.

that said could anyone give me 3 CHOICES for HTS in $1500 range???

-2 small main front speakers (preferably 2 rear wireless)
-center speaker
-sub
-reciever

for a small apartment but will expand eventually (use mostly TV and Blue-ray) ideally something compatible for ipod doc.

1800 will buy you a MUCH better system than Bose offers.

I'd spend 400 or so on a receiver (Onkyo or Denon are both good) and the rest on your speakers. Amazon has good deals like this:

Many quality speaker manufacturers have wireless kits if you absolutely need them. But keep in mind that the rears are not truly wireless because you are simply giving up speaker wire for a power cable for each rear speaker. Aperion Audio for example has a smallish entry level system like this Intimus 4B Harmony SD for 1,180.

Substitute their wireless rears and the speakers will come to about 1400.

Orb and Energy make good speaker systems in this range as well.

many thanks...... and yes after reading other reviews ive realized i can get alot more bang for my buck by not going through bose HTS.

Not high end but can't be too bad...especially for that price. Add $100 to $150 for a BDPlayer, and you are set.
