Need a New HDTV , and Need help picking

I want a new HDTV I can spend at most $1200. Picture quality is most important thing to me dont need wifi or netflix, I alread have it on my xbox and computer. Im looking for somthing between 40 inch and 47 inch Full LED backlit sounds good but if something without it has better picture that regular lcd would be fine.

recently purchased:
1)samsung ln40c630....
2)Sony kdl40ex500....
Sony is mine... samsung was a gift. I love this sony.Excellent picture,nice look,great features/price.Person who received samsung loves it for same reasons.Both are lcd,1080p,120hz,120'000/1 or more contrast ratio.Both cost around $750.For $1000 you could probably pick up the 46 inch version of either. I'm a Sony person,so that's what I bought. Person who recieved the Samsung requested that model.So go to Big Buy and compare,see what you think.Five different people will like five different sets.The good news is ALL of the newer sets are big improvements over just a few years ago.

Samsung is the one im most looking at the ln46c750 glad to hear you really like yours. The LG 47LH90 is the other one, but it is a year older , but has LED backlight though. This will be my first LCD and will not be getting another one for a long time to come so need to get the right one. I think your right Samsung always seems like a good choice. Will be buying a T.V by next sunday, thanks for your input

Biker.. spend the time in a store that has several to choose in your size/price zone.Take as many hours as you need to compare till you narrow it to 2 or 3.Write those model #s down ,come home and google them.Then read REVIEWS from users.Many retailers have reviews and some models have hundreds.Throw away the best and worst and believe the rest.This is how I buy any major item.And don't forget cnet's forums.Both Samsung and Sony have forums here.Lots of knowledgeable people here.Have saved my butt many times. Good luck and enjoy your flat panel.
