Planet Earth on 5 Blu-ray discs or 4?

BBC's Planet Earth collection is on five Blu-Ray discs -- unless you buy it as part of BBC's Natural History collection; then it is on four Blu-Ray discs. The times given for the two are the same. I'm curious to know what was done to squeeze it all onto four discs, and especially whether the quality of the recording was compromised in any way.

Double check the Amazon reviews.Different footage, I believe

I am not 100%, but the different release dates, in combination with the fact that the BBC Natural History collection is showing other content might mean the PE footage is slightly different.

My guess is that it is the same. What you overlooked is this; It's 5 DVD set vs. 4 BD set.

Ahtoi nailed it -- clearly I didn't do my homework well enough. In fact, the Blu-Ray Planet Earth (by itself) is only 4 discs; it is the DVD version that is 5 discs. I thought I had checked this! Anyway, my apologies for the nearly superfluous thread.
