Squeezebox Boom with itunes control

I have searching but cannot seem to find a solution to the following questions. Can I use the itunes music player on my Mac osx (tiger) to play music on my Squeezebox boom? I am aware that I can load the music into squeezecenter however, I find squeezecenter difficult to deal with and I prefer the controls that I have in itunes.
