TV connector on back is broken. Will RCA cables fix it?

Basically the metal connector on the back of the tv to screw the cable into broke off from the tv when I was moving and a friend told me RCA cables will work if I run it through a VCR/DVD.

I am giving the tv to my sister and am trying to figure this out, lol, but no luck so far. She has a DVD/VHS combo and it has a ton of options to plug into so if anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Please see pics attached.

Coaxial cable from the antenna to ANT_IN of the dvd/vcr. connect the RCA cables (red, white, yellow) dvd/vcr OUT to TV->(1). Set the tv to video 1 (guessing here). set the dvd/vcr to vcr and use it to select your tv channels. Good luck.

I think the co-ax out to the TV is just a pass-through so you can watch TV without the DVD/VCR being on. In theory it should be possible to bypass this missing connection and watch TV via the VCR RCA inputs (as long as the it is powered up) but I'm not sure if your sister's particular model is configured (or can) do that. You'll just have to try to find out.
