Battery-operated digital televisions

I'm looking to replace our old SONY WatchMan (analog) with a new digital television receiver. The problem I'm running into is that all the devices I can find have built-in, rechargeable batteries which, in an [insert any emergency situation here] will not last long enough to get through an emergency (2.5 hours is the longest I've seen). In addition, it is likely that there will be limited/no power available with which to recharge the batteries.
So, what I want is a digital receiver that, while it may chew through batteries when it operates, will at least continue to operate for as long as I can feed it batteries.
Is there any collective wisdom on this subject? All help appreciated!
