Samsung TOC

Looks like Samsung has a comprehensive lineup of 46" LCD's. Although I'd prefer a plazma, I can't ignore the energy efficiency of the LCD's. My wife & I have borrowed a 32" Vizio VX32L for the last few months. Other than banding in scenes like the sky, the picture is good enough for our tastes. Obviously not very descriminating!

What holds me back from the Samsungs is the mid level models are all that damned Touch of Color. Has anyone tried modifying the frame with, for example, black magic marker on the back side to kill the TOC? 'Painting' the TV frame might sound a little bizzare but I simply will not buy the set if I have to look at that red frame all the time. Thanks in advance.

Maybe it will be a new trend. I love silver; then they threw the black on me, but I am use to it now. I still preferred silver.
