Panasonic TV problems!

I have a lot of news about Panasonic HDTV's that stop working after a few months due to a faulty circuit board or something. Does anyone know the stats or if Panasonic has fixed this problem?

I bought a TH-42PZ700U manufactured in July 2007 and have had it for over 2 1/2 months and it is working fine but i am worried about the future reliability of my TV. Can anyone guide me on how to figure if it is okay or should i buy extended warranty? Thanks for your input on this issue.

etc... if there's a problem with that model, there's a good chance you'll see a pattern noted there. every day your tv continues to work brings down the probability it'll go out soon, that's the nature of electronics. if they're going to fail, they fail quickly due to a faulty component, cold solder joint, etc.
