Samsung LNT4661F vs. Sony 46W3000

Which LCD would you recommend between a Sony KDL-46W3000 or a Samsung LN-T4661F?

I currently own the W3000; however, I could return it and purchase the Sammy for about $700 less? Is the Sony W3000 better and if so, is it $700 better?

I am looking at the same two TVs. I was dissapointed to see that no one replyed to you. I was wondering what you ended up buying?

Anyone else out there have an opinion regarding the LNT4661F vs the 46W3000 at this time?

Sony 46W3000

After much research... I decided on the Sony 46W3000.

I viewed the TV's side-by-side at many stores and Sony was superior. Also, after reading multiple ratings, rankings, reviews, and forums; I came to the conclusion that the Sony had a better picture and was a better TV overall.

The Sammy LNT4661f is one of Samsung's lower-end 1080P models, whereas, the Sony W3000 is the higher-end of the Sony 1080P models.

I have been very impressed with the TV and would recommend the Sony 46W3000.

I think the top 3 LCDs are Sony, Samsung and Sharp in that order.

My search is down to these 2 TVs as well.

They are both 1080p, 46" LCD. The only difference is Sony has 16,000:1 contrast ratio while Samsung has 10,000:1.

And the price is $1499 for Samsung and $1899 for Sony. Now the question is - does the 6,000 contrast ratio difference plus the Sony quality worth $400? And yes, the Sony looks more natural (skin tone) as well.

Well, Sammy's LNT65F series may probably be closer quality.

Don't forget that Samsung's LNT61F series is entry-level, so you're basically comparing a mid-range HDTV from Sony to an entry-level from Samsung, is what you're doing. However, the LNT65F is a better TV to compare the W3000 to, imho, since the contrast ratios are almost identical. Even tho the LNT65F does have that "plasma" look to it, as far as glossiness, it should be a more worthy contender to the W3000 than the 61F is.
