Well, I called back again to try and change my TV back to my original selection, the PDP-5060HD, but was convinced by ANOTHER salesman..."Why do you want to do that? You are getting a better TV at the best price." Supposedly this TV is comparable to the Pioneer Elite Plasma. Who knows? As far as the ProKit, I have no idea what is even supposed to be included in that, because it doesn't say online. I did not need speakers or a wall mount. So I suppose I am getting the ProKit minus those two things. I did find out that I am getting two power boards or mother boards, whatever they're called. The model numbers are PDA-5004 and TVP-1000. I was told both of these were Pioneer brand, but the TVP-1000 is made by some company called Aurora. He said this TV is better because you have the outputs built in instead of external, so it "saves" some room. And that this TV has the same panel and filter system as the Elite series. However, one salesman said this was HDMI, and then when we called back, another said, no, it was NOT HDMI, that it is DVI, but since we won't be using the speakers on the monitor -- we didn't purchase any -- and only be using surround sound, then this is even better. Because DVI enhances video, not sound. I just got very worried after reading all of these posts on CNET. I regretfully think we are going to take a chance with the 505MX and hope for the best. It just seems that the salesmen don't want to take no for an answer, and I am not the most technological person, so I don't know what to believe.
As far as why they are calling consumers after the fact to try and sell these 505MXs, it's because they can offer a warranty on these monitors that Pioneer will honor. But Pioneer will not honor any warranty on any of their other monitors on PriceMad, because they are not an authorized dealer. Also, this is such a better TV, that they are recommending to everyone they should just buy this one, because it's a better bang for your buck!!! And, lastly, what I can remember, it's because Pioneer is only allowing PriceMad and a select few other retailers sell this TV in the States. That they have an agreement with them. This is an international model supposedly that was just introduced in Vegas last year, and that that's why there is not much supposedly about this model online. There were 252 items I found on 505MX and over 350,000 on 5060HD. That's what scares me. Perhaps I should just cancel my entire order and go somewhere else. I just placed the order last night, and they said they were probably shipping it out last night, but it was 6:00 p.m. their time already. I don't know about that. Any other suggestions from ANYONE??? This is a great buy, but still a lot of money to spend on something that might be total garbage.
