Are there any that will upconvert to 1080P? I'm planning on buying the Sony XBR SXRD 60 inch.

The only information I got was the Sony xbr does 1080 it does not say I or P. My new toshiba will do both I and P and watching Discovery h,d, theater in 1080I is mindblowing I dont see how much better 1080P would look I guess we will have to wait and see what blue ray looks like good luck stewart

Well, no way I am ditching the Denon receiver--it's only 2 years old and it's a nice unit so even though it doesn't have an HDMI input, I think I'll take the advice of running HDMI from TV to Sat and then optical to the receiver.

Just bought one and saved a bundle because it doesent have h.d.m.i. switching who cares, I bought a Gifin d.v.i. switcher with remote control. run my d.v.d. player and hi-def sat box thru the switcher and then a d.v.i. to h.d.m.i. cable to the t.v. no that other h.d.m.i port on the t.v. is just waiting for a blue ray player I also agree that using optical audio connections gives you mindbending 5.1 Also what speakers are you using with your Denon? I just bought a 5.1. Atlantic Techonology 4200 speaker system with my Denon And the dealer was nice to me He set up everything for me, brought over the special microphone and did a auto set up which e.q. and balanced all 6 speakers. The only problem is I have to change the remote control batteries every two month that remote light display really tears up the batteries ha ha, but the Denon and A/T speakers are a match made in heaven good luck top you stewart
